Abstract:
Objective To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of external application of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of superficial vein thrombosis. Methods A total of four domestic databases(all from the establishment of the database to August 2021) were searched for the literature of clinical randomized controlled trials of combined external application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the treatment of superficial vein thrombosis. The quality of the retrieved original studies was evaluated according to the Cochrane Handbook 5.1.0 evaluation standard, and the final included studies were meta analyzed by Revman 5.4.1 software. Results A total of 328 articles were retrieved, including 13 studies that met the inclusion criteria, with a total sample size of 1 144 cases. The results of meta-analysis showed that compared with routine treatment, external application of Traditional Chinese Medicine could significantly improve the total clinical effective rate of patients with superficial vein thrombosis [RR=1.26, 95%CI (1.20, 1.33), Z =8.81,P <0.01] and improve local pain[MD=-0.12, 95%CI (-0.23, 0.01), Z =2.12, P =0.03] and cord induration [MD=-0.67, 95%CI (-0.87, -0.47),Z =6.58, P <0.001]. There was no significant difference in improving skin color [MD=0.03, 95%CI (-0.22,0.28), Z =0.22, P =0.83]. Conclusion The efficacy of combined external application of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of superficial vein thrombosis is better than simple routine treatment, and it can improve its clinical effectiveness. However, there is a lack of relevant high-quality literature. The positive results of this study still need to be further verified by large sample and multi center clinical trials with reliable research scheme.
