Clinical Controlled Observation of Yiqi Xingshui Decoction in Treating Urinary Retention after Anorectal Surgery

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effectiveness of Yiqi Xingshui Decoction for patients with urinary retention after anorectal surgery and the effect on the residual urine volume as well as the time of spontaneous urination in patients. Methods Sixty patients with urinary retention after anorectal surgery were selected as the research object. The study group and the control group were set according to the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group were used conventional treatment and the study group were used conventional treatment combined with Yiqi Xingshui Decoction.The efficacy, clinical indicators and pain scores before and after treatment between the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the study group was 93% and that of the control group was 77%. The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was higher than that of the control group (P <0.05).The residual urine volume in the bladder (119.0±18.2) mL, self-urination time (38.4±17.3) min, defecation time (34.0±8.4) h and hospitalization time (4.6±2.1) d are all less than those of the control group (168.0±22.9) mL, (54.2±18.8) min, (75.1±6.0) h and (8.5±3.0) d. The clinical indicators of the study group were better than those of the control group (P <0.05).The VAS scores of the study group were (3.1±0.4, 1.9±0.3) on the 3rd and 7thd after treatment and were lower than those of the control group. The scores of the group were (4.3±1.0, 3.0±0.5) and the pain scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion The treatment of urinary retention after anorectal surgery with Yiqi Xingshui Decoction has a good effect. It can effectively reduce the residual urine volume of the patient’s bladder, shorten the time of self-urination, significantly improve the pain and shorten the recovery time.
