Abstract:
Objective To observe the curative effect of external application of Chinese medicine in the treatment of stage III pressure ulcers on children who were treated with plaster or splint fixation after fracture. Methods Sixty children with stage III pressure ulcers caused by plaster or splint after fractures were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, which were treated with traditional Chinese medicine dressing and conventional dressing method. The wound healing time, healing rate, wound score at the time of treatment at 7d and 14d after treatment were recorded for statistical analysis. Results The average healing time of the treatment group was (16.33 ± 4.21) d,and that of the control group was (22.72 ± 5.13) d.The average healing time of the treatment group was shorter than that of the control group (P < 0.05).The average wound score of the treatment group was (23.33 ± 3.92) points and (12.54 ± 2.42) points on the 7th and 14th days after treatment, and those in the control group were (29.61 ± 4.07) points and (23.85 ± 5.01) points respectively (P <0.05).The improvement of the score in the treatment group was better than that in the control group. The wound healing rate of the treatment group was 32.06% and 30.36% at 7d and 14d, as well as 18.10% and 17.07% in the control group. The wound healing rate of the treatment group was better than that of the control group. Conclusion The external use of Chinese medicine can be used as an excellent method to treat children with stage III pressure ulcers caused by plaster or splint fixation.
