Clinical Efficacy of Platelet-Rich Plasma Combined with Point Skin Grafting on Diabetic Foot Wounds

Abstract:
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) combined with point skin grafting on diabetic foot wounds. Methods A total of 62 diabetic foot wound patients were divided into treatment group (31 cases) and control group (31 cases) by different treatment methods. The treatment group was treated by PRP combined with point skin grafting.Three days after the operation, Shengji Xiangpi Paste was applied for daily dressing change. The control group was treated by point skin grafting.Three days after the operation, Shengji Xiangpi Paste was applied for daily dressing change. The survival rate of skin grafts of the two groups were observed at 3 and 7 days after point skin grafting. The wound healing time, healing rate and total effective rate were observed for 1 month. Results 3 days after point skin grafting，survival rate of skin graft was statistically difference between the two groups, which the treatment group [94.7% (413/436)]was more than that of the control group [91.1% (347/381)](P<0.05). 7 days after point skin grafting, survival rate of skin graft was statistically difference between the two groups, which the treatment group [88.3% (385/436)] was more than that of the control group [80.6% (307/381)] (P<0.05).The median time to wound healing was (15.00 ± 0.687) days in the treatment group and (24.00±2.319) days in the control group (P<0.05).Following up for 1 month, the wound healing rate was 87.1% in the treatment group and 64.5% in the control group (P<0.05).The total effective rate was 96.8% in the treatment group and 93.5% in the control group respectively. Conclusion Platelet-rich plasma combined with point skin grafting is effective in the treatment of diabetic foot wounds.
