Clinical Observation of Rubber Shengji Ointment Combined with Epidermal Growth Factor in the Treatment of Elderly Deep Burn

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of rubber Shengji ointment combined with epidermal growth factor in the treatment of deep burn wounds in the elderly. Methods 217 elderly patients with deep burn were randomly divided into control group (Sulfadiazine Silver Cream local dressing dressing) and treatment group (rubber Shengji ointment plus Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor Gel local dressing dressing). The patients in the two groups were treated with 1:10 benzalkonium chloride solution for local cleaning and disinfection of the wound surface. The frequency of dressing change was once every two days until the wound healed. The wound healing rate at different time points (14 d, 21 d, 28 d) and the local scar after wound healing were compared between the two groups. Results The 14 day wound healing rate (%) in the treatment group was (36.6±2.0) higher than that in the control group (20.8±3.8). The 21 day wound healing rate (%) in the treatment group was (55.2±2.3) higher than that in the control group (38.3±3.0). The 28 day wound healing rate (%) in the treatment group (75.2±2.4) was higher than that in the control group (55.2± 3.6). The wound healing time of the treatment group was signi?cantly shorter than that of the control group (P<0.05). According to the Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS), the number of severe scars in the treatment group was signi?cantly less than that in the control group. Conclusion Rubber Shengji ointment combined with epidermal growth factor in the treatment of elderly patients with deep burn can effectively promote the wound edge crawling inward, promote the wound healing and repair, shorten the wound healing time as well as reduce the impact of subsequent scar problems on patients.
