Clinical Research of Xiao Yan Ointment Treating Superficial Thrombophlebitis in Varicose Veins of Lower Extremities after Foam Sclerotherapy Combined with Surgery

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effectiveness of Xiao Yan Ointment for the treatment of superficial thrombophlebitis in varicose veins of lower extremities after foam sclerotherapy combined with surgery. Methods Sixty cases with superficial thrombophlebitis after foam sclerotherapy combined with surgery of varicose veins of lower extremities in the department of peripheral vascular diseases, Jinan Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2017 to January 2020 were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group. On the basis of conventional treatment, the patients in observation group were treated with Xiao Yan Ointment and patients in control group were treated with Polysulfonic Acid Mucopolysaccharide Cream. The statistical analysis of the symptom scores, thrombus length, inflammatory area and pain scores were performed before and after treatment in the two groups. Results Symptom scores, thrombus length, inflammatory area and pain scores were significantly lower in both groups after treatment than before (P < 0 . 05 ).The comparison between groups showed that symptom scores, thrombus length and inflammatory area were smaller in the observation group than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The difference in pain scores between the two groups after treatment was not significantly different (P>0.05). Conclusion Both Xiao Yan Ointment and Polysulfonic Acid Mucopolysaccharide Cream are effective in treating super?cial thrombophlebitis in varicose veins of lower extremities after foam sclerotherapy combined with surgery, but Xiao Yan Ointment are superior to Polysulfonic Acid Mucopolysaccharide Cream in improving clinical symptoms, reducing thrombus length, and reducing in?ammatory area.
