Clinical Observation on the Treatment of Zengshengping and Sijunzi Decoction Combination Therapy in Low Grade Esophageal Intraepithelial Neoplasia with Spleen Deficiency and Heat Stasis

Abstract:
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Zengshengping and Sijunzi decoction combination therapy in low grade esophageal intraepithelial neoplasia. Methods 105 patients with spleen deficiency and heat stasis, who were diagnosed with low grade esophageal intraepithelial neoplasia as well and they were randomly divided into three groups: group A (western medicine combined with Zengshengping and Sijunzi decoction), group B (western medicine combined with Zengshengping), group C (simple western medicine). There were 35 patients in each group and they were given corresponding drugs to intervene respectively. After 6 months, the patients; clinical symptoms, esophageal mucosa changes under endoscopy and pathological changes, as well as adverse reactions during the treatment were observed. Results The efficacies of group A and group B (100%, 100%) were both better than those of group C (74.29%) (P < 0.05), but there was no significant difference between group A and B (P > 0.05). In endoscopic mucosal improvement, endoscopic improvement scores in group A and B (1.83±0.75,1.80±0.72) were higher than group C (1.43±0.61)(P < 0.05), but there was no significant difference between group A and B (P > 0.05). In terms of pathological improvement, there was no statistically significant difference of the efficiency between group A and B (41.18%,39.39%) (P > 0.05), but the efficiencies of these groups were significantly higher than that of group C (11.43%)(P < 0.05). There was no obvious adverse reaction during the treatment. Conclusion Zengshengping can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients with low grade esophageal intraepithelial neoplasia, inhibit the progression of low grade intraepithelial neoplasia. It has a certain protective effect on esophageal mucosa,which is worthy of clinical application.
