Abstract:
Objective To explore the clinical effect of external application of modified Sihuang ointment in the adjuvant treatment of acute gouty arthritis. Methods 84 patients with acute gouty arthritis were selected as the study object. They were divided into observation group and control group according to the random number table method, and 42 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with etoricoxib and febuxost on the basis of diet care. The observation group was treated with external application of modified Sihuang ointment on the basis of the control group for 5 days. The clinical symptom scores (joint pain, joint swelling, joint skin temperature) and the comprehensive clinical effect between the two groups were compared. Results The clinical symptom scores of the two groups after treatment showed that the VAS scores of joint pain in the observation group was significantly lower than those in the control group on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th day after treatment, which the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). On the 3rd, 4th and 5th day after treatment, the joint swelling and skin temperature scores of the observation group were also significantly lower than those of the control group (P <0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was 92.86%, which was significantly higher than that of the control group (73.81%) (P <0.05). The patients in the observation group had no local drug allergy in joint. Conclusion The external application of modified Sihuang ointment is helpful to relieve the clinical symptoms of acute gouty arthritis and improve the clinical efficacy.
