Abstract:
Objective To investigate the risk factors for postoperative pulmonary infection in patients with pancreatic cancer (PC). Methods Retrospective analysis of 356 patients with surgically treated PC admitted to the People' s Hospital of Changzhou City from January 2009 to December 2018. The clinical data of postoperative infection in PC patients were collected. Single-factor and multi-factor logistic regression were used to analyze age, gender, smoking history, history of hypertension, history of hyperlipidemia, anesthesia, surgical procedure, time of surgery, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative blood transfusion, indwelling time of abdominal drainage tube, body mass index (BMI) as well as the effects of combined risk factors on postoperative pulmonary infection in PC patients. Results There were 43 cases of infection after operation and the infection rate was 12.07%.313 cases were non-infected and the non-infection rate was 87.92%. Univariate analysis showed that age, smoking history, anesthesia, surgical procedure, operation time, indwelling time of abdominal drainage tube and body mass index were the influencing factors of postoperative pulmonary infection in PC patients (P <0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk factors for postoperative pulmonary infection in patients with PC were as follows: age ≥ 60 years, preoperative smoking history, anesthesia, surgical procedure, operation time ≥ 4 hours, indwelling time of abdominal drainage tube ≥ 10days and BMI ≥ 24kg/m2 (P < 0.05). Conclusion Older age, preoperative smoking history, intravenous anesthesia, pancreaticoduodenectomy, long operation time, long indwelling time of abdominal drainage tube and high BMI are risk factors for postoperative pulmonary infection in PC patients.
