Antibacterial Effect of Qingrejiedu Decoction on Escherichia Coli in Vitro

Abstract:
Objective To study the antibacterial activity of Qingrejiedu decoction on clinical isolates of Escherichia coli which producing extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBLs). Methods The antibiotic susceptibility test was performed on clinically isolated Escherichia coli by K-B method. The Escherichia coli which producing ESBLs was screened. The in vitro antibacterial effect of Qingrejiedu Decoction on Escherichia coli which producing ESBLs was observed by agar double dilution method. Results A total of 92 Escherichia coli strains which producing ESBLs were screened. The in vitro bacteriostatic test showed that the minimum inhibitory concentration of Qingrejiedu Decoction on Escherichia coli which producing ESBLs was 250 g/L (10/92), 125 g/L(29/92) , 62.5 g/L(45 /92) and 31.25 g/L(8/92). Conclusion Different concentrations of Qingrejiedu Decoction have different degrees of antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli.
