Abstract:
Objective To observe the clinical effect of elephant-skin powder on venous ulcer of lower extremity. Methods Patients with venous ulcer of lower extremities ( 78 cases) were randomly divided into treatment group and control group (n=39). The patients in treatment group were treated with external application of elephant-skin powder, and the patients in control group were treated with external application of MEBO gauze. The duration of treatment was 60 d. Results The total effective rates of treatment and control groups were 87 . 18 % and 66 . 67 %, respectively (P < 0 . 05 ). The improvement of granulation tissue and exudation in the treatment group was more obvious than that in the control group (P < 0 . 05), and there was no statistically signi?cant difference in the pain score between the two groups after treatment (P>0.05). Conclusion External application of elephant skin powder in the treatment of venous ulcers of lower extremities can improve local tissue effusion and granulation tissue growth, and has a good effect on improving and enhancing wound healing.
