Abstract:
Objective To analyze the risk factors of surgical site infection in orthopedic patients, and to explore the effect of patients involved in preventing infections in orthopedic surgery sites. Methods Retrospective analysis of clinical data of 248 patients who underwent orthopaedic surgery from June 2015 to June 2016 was performed. Taking time as a priority, 124 cases in the early stage as the control group and 124 cases in the late stage as the observation group, the incidence of surgical infection and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results Multivariate unconditional logistic regression analysis showed that the factors related to SSI included Staphylococcus aureus colonization, diabetes, blood glucose level, and smoking history. After the patients were included in the prevention of infection management in the orthopedic surgery site, the incidence of surgical infection in the observation group (4.0%) was lower than that in the control group (11.2%) (P<0.05). The satisfaction of the observation group (95.1%) was higher than that of the control group (86.3%) (P<0.05). Patients participation in SSI could reduce the incidence of SSI and increase the patient satisfaction. Conclusion The patients involved in the prevention of infection in orthopedic surgery site can effectively reduce the incidence of surgical infection.
