Abstract:
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture at Zusanli(ST36) and Guanyuan(CV4) on exercise-induced fatigue (EIF) in military-trained college students. Methods Sixty college students undergoing EIF military training were randomly divided into the observation group(n=30) and the control group(n=30).The control group had a full rest after fatigue training;the observation group was treated with acupuncture at Zusanli and Guanyuan points on the basis of adequate rest, once a day for 14 days. The subjective rating of perceived exertion(RPE) was evaluated in each group before training and at the end of the experiment.Changes of lactic acid(LA),lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),creatine kinase(CK),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),glucose(GLU),testosterone(T),and cortisol(C) were also measured in each group. Results There was no significant difference in RPE,LA,LDH,CK,BUN,GLU,T between the groups before training(P >0.05).After the experiment, the RPE,LA,LDH,CK,BUN,C in observation group were lower than in the control group(P <0.001),the GLU and T in observation group were higher than in the control group(P <0.001). Conclusion Acupuncture at Zusanli and Guanyuan can effectively reduce the RPE of college students undergoing military training with exercise-induced fatigue, lower the levels of LA,LDH,CK,BUN and C,increase the levels of GLU and T,and improve the EIF.
