Abstract:
Objective To observe the effect of Huoluo Xiaoling recipe combined with diclofenac sodium in perioperative patients with bone and joint trauma. Methods From June 2023 to December 2024, 100 patients with bone and joint trauma who underwent routine surgical treatment in the Department of Orthopedics I of Changzhou Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine were selected as study subjects. They were divided into two groups using the random number table method: the control group (50 cases) received diclofenac sodium treatment, and the Chinese medicine group (50 cases) received modified Huoluo Xiaoling recipe in addition to the control group’s treatment. The clinical efficacy, postoperative swelling, pain, serum inflammatory factor levels, joint function, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups of patients with bone and joint trauma. Results The total effective rate in the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) group was 94.0%, which was significantly higher than 78.0% in the control group (P <0.05). At 1 week after operation, swelling degree and VAS score in the TCM group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). Repeated-measures ANOVA showed that VAS score and swelling degree were significantly different in terms of time, group, and their interaction (all P <0.05). At 3 months after operation, HSS score and range of motion in the TCM group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). At 1 week after operation, IL-6 and hs-CRP levels in the TCM group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). IL-6 and hs-CRP were significantly different in terms of time, group, and their interaction (all P <0.05). Conclusion The application of Huoluo Xiaoling recipe combined with diclofenac sodium in perioperative patients with bone and joint trauma can effectively improve the clinical efficacy, improve the level of serum inflammatory factors and joint function, and reduce postoperative swelling and pain, with high safety.
