Abstract:
Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of internal administration of Yiqi Jiedu Sanjie decoction combined with external application of Dahu tincture in the treatment of plasma cell mastitis (PCM) in the mass stage and its influences on the levels of serum procalcitonin (PCT), interleukin-8 (IL-8), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Methods 120 patients with PCM in the mass stage were selected and randomly separated into two groups, with 60 cases per group. control group was treated with antibiotics and infrared rays, while observation group was treated with internal administration of Yiqi Jiedu Sanjie decoction combined with external application of Dahu tincture on the basis of control group. The therapeutic effects and the changes in the levels of serum PCT, IL-8 and TNF-α in patients were compared. Results The total effective rate of observation group was 95.00%, which was higher than 78.33% of control group (P <0.05). After therapy, observation group had lower scores for breast pain, skin redness and swelling, and mass size than control group (P <0.05), and had lower levels of serum PCT, IL-8, TNF-α, and immunoglobulin A (IgA), IgM, and IgG than control group (P <0.05). After 6-month follow-up, observation group was lower than control group in terms of recurrence rate (P <0.05). Conclusion Internal administration of Yiqi Jiedu Sanjie decoction combined with external application of Dahu tincture has a clear clinical effect on PCM in the mass stage. It can clearly relieve symptoms such as breast pain and redness, reduce inflammatory responses, and has a lower recurrence rate.
