Effect of Jinlida granule on blood glucose control and surgical efficacy in type 2 diabetes patients with hip fracture

Abstract:
Objective To observe the effect of Jinlida granule on blood glucose control and surgical efficacy in type 2 diabetes patients with hip fracture. Methods A total of 128 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) complicated by hip fractures who underwent surgical treatment at Shijiazhuang People's Hospital from February 2023 to May 2024 were selected and randomly divided into groups. The control group (63 cases) received traditional hypoglycemic therapy, while the observation group (65 cases) received Jinlidag Granules in addition to the control group's treatment. Blood glucose indicators, Harris hip scores, bone metabolism markers, inflammatory factors, and hemorheological parameters were measured before treatment and after 6 months of treatment. The overall effective rate, fracture line disappearance time, X-ray callus score, and total incidence of adverse reactions after 6 months of treatment were recorded and compared between the groups. Results The observation group had an overall effective rate of 95.38%, higher than the control group′s 80.95%, with a statistically significant difference (P =0.036). The observation group showed higher X-ray bone callus scores, post-treatment Harris hip scores, and bone metabolism indicators [BMD, tP1NP, and 25(OH)D3] than the control group, with a shorter time to fracture line disappearance. Post-treatment blood glucose indicators, inflammatory factors, hemorheological indicators, and bone metabolism indicators (β-CTX) were lower in the observation group than in the control group, all with statistically significant differences (P <0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P >0.05). Conclusion Jinlida granules can promote fracture healing and hip joint function recovery by regulating blood sugar, improving bone metabolism and hemorheology, reducing inflammatory reactions, and ultimately achieving the goal of promoting fracture healing and hip joint function recovery. The risk of adverse reactions has not significantly increased, and it is worth promoting and applying.
