Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of modified Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang decoction on patients with diarrhea (PCD) after cholecystectomy. Methods A total of 226 PCD patients admitted to our hospital between December 2021 and December 2023 were selected as the study subjects and randomly assigned into control group and study group, with 113 patients in each group. The control group received intervention with glutamine and Brucella yeast powder, while the study group received intervention with modified Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang decoction in addition to the control group. The efficacy, gut microbiota, intestinal mucosal barrier function, inflammatory factors, and bad reactions of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group (98.23% vs 91.15% P <0.05). After treatment, the numbers of enterococci and Escherichia coli, and the levels of D-lactic acid, diamine oxidase (DAO), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-8 (IL-8), and C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) in the study group were lower than those in the control group, the numbers of bifidobacteria, lactobacilli, and level of intestinal mucosal secreted immunoglobulin A (SIgA) in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). The total incidence of bad reactions in the study group (3.54%) was lower than that in the control group (10.62%) (P <0.05). Conclusion The combination of modified Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang decoction, glutamine, and Brucella yeast powder has significant therapeutic effects on PCD patients. It can improve the intestinal microbiota and intestinal mucosal barrier function, reduce bad reactions in the body, and has high safety.
