Effect of Xiaoyan Lidan decoction combined with ursodeoxycholic acid on patients with common bile duct stones after laparoscopic transcystic common bile duct exploration

Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of the combination of Xiaoyan Lidan decoction and ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) on patients with common bile duct stones after cholecystectomy and choledocholithotomy, and to analyze its clinical efficacy. Methods From March 2021 to January 2023, 124 patients with common bile duct stones admitted to our hospital were randomly grouped into a test group of 62 cases and a reference group of 62 cases. Based on laparoscopic transcystic common bile duct exploration (LTCBDE), reference group was treated with UDCA, while test group was treated with Xiaoyan Lidan decoction combined with UDCA. The total postoperative effective rate, TCM symptom score, postoperative clinical indicators, liver function indicators, incidence of adverse reactions, and recurrence rate during follow-up were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of test group (91.94%) was obviously improved compared to reference group (75.81%) (P <0.05); the scores of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms such as fever, nausea and vomiting, jaundice, and abdominal pain in test group were obviously lower than those in reference group (P <0.05); the postoperative hospitalization time, gastrointestinal function recovery time, and abdominal pain relief time in test group were obviously shorter than those in reference group (P <0.05); and the levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine transferase (ALT), and total bilirubin (TBIL) in reference group were obviously lower than those in reference group (P <0.05); the incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups was not statistically obvious (P <0.05), but the recurrence rate in test group (1.61%) was obviously lower than that in reference group (11.29%) (P <0.05). Conclusion The combination of Xiaoyan Lidan decoction and UDCA treatment can effectively improve liver function and reduce recurrence rate in patients with common bile duct stones after LTCBDE surgery, with ideal effect and high clinical application value.
