Role of dimethicone powder and dimethicone emulsion in the preparation before gastroscopy

Abstract:
Objective To explore the role of dimethicone powder and simethicone emulsion in preparation before gastroscopy. Methods A total of 109 patients who underwent gastroscopy in the Endoscopy Center of Nankai Hospital from October 2023 to December 2023 were selected. The patients were divided into three groups according to the random number table method: dyclonine hydrochloride (n=38), simethicone powder+dyclonine hydrochloride (n=38) and simethicone powder+dyclonine hydrochloride (n=33). Results dyclonine mucilage hydrochloride combined with simethicone powder and simethicone emulsion can effectively improve the mucosal clarity and the detection rate of minor lesions under gastroscope, and the efficacy of combined application of simethicone emulsion in improving mucosal clarity under gastroscope is better than that of simethicone powder (P <0.05). There is no statistical difference in the occurrence of adverse reactions among the three groups(P ＞0.05). Conclusion In the preparation before gastroscopy, dyclonine mucilage combined with simethicone emulsion is more effective, which can not only improve the visual field of endoscopy, but also improve the detection rate of minor lesions, reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions, and the clinical application is more efficient and safe.
