Abstract:
Objective To explore the influence of Bugan Jianxi decoction on the rehabilitation effect, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) after arthroscopic plasty for knee meniscus injury. Methods From June 2023 to May 2024, 68 patients with knee meniscus injury who received arthroscopic plasty in Suining Hospital of TCM Affiliated to North Sichuan Medical College were selected and randomized into study group and control group by simple randomization method, with 34 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with routine functional exercise, while the patients in the study group were added with Bugan Jianxi decoction on the basis of the control group. The scores of TCM symptoms, Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score, Lysholm knee score, serum inflammatory indexes [ESR, CRP, white blood cell count (WBC), interleukin-17 (IL-17)] and serum oxidative stress indexes [malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD)] were counted in both groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, both groups exhibited decreased scores of TCM symptoms, reduced levels of ESR, CRP, WBC, IL-17 and MDA and increased JOA score, Lysholm knee score and SOD level. Compared to the control group, the study group showed lower TCM symptoms, ESR, CRP, WBC, IL-17 and MDA, and higher JOA score, Lysholm knee score and SOD level (P<0.05). Conclusion Bugan Jianxi decoction can improve the rehabilitation effect of knee function after arthroscopic plasty for knee meniscus injury, relieve the clinical symptoms, and help to relieve the inflammatory response and oxidative stress status.
