Observation of efficacy of Xiaotuoqingyi decoction in the treatment of acute pancreatitis

Abstract:
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Xiaotuoqingyi decoction in the treatment of acute pancreatitis (heat syndrome of the excess type) and the improvement of TCM symptoms. Methods A total of 49 patients with acute pancreatitis were divided into 25 cases in the treatment group and 24 cases in the control group according to the random number table method. The control group was given conventional treatments such as withholding food and water, gastrointestinal decompression, somatostatin and omeprazole sodium. The treatment group added Xiaotuoqingyi decoction on the basis of the control group to compare the total effective rate, symptom relief time, TCM symptom score and serum enzymatic indexes of the two groups. Results The overall effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group. The time to relieve abdominal pain and disappear abdominal distension, the recovery time of bowel sounds, and the time to defecation in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.01). After treatment, the scores of abdominal pain, abdominal tenderness, nausea and vomiting, and poor stool decreased compared with those before treatment (P<0.01), and the scores of abdominal tenderness and unobstructed stool in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.01). After treatment, the scores of dry mouth, stomach stuffiness, belching acid reflux and chest tightness and shortness of breath decreased in the treatment group compared with before treatment (P<0.01), while only dry mouth and chest tightness decreased in the control group compared with those before treatment (P<0.05). After treatment, serum enzymatic levels decreased in the treatment group (P<0.01) compared with that before treatment (P<0.01). Conclusion The clinical efficacy of anti-pancreatic decoction in the treatment of acute pancreatitis is definite, and it can effectively relieve symptoms, accelerate the recovery of gastrointestinal function, reduce serum enzymatic level. It is recommended for clinical use.
