Abstract:
Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of wrist ankle acupuncture in patients with renal colic. Methods 120 patients with renal colic were randomly divided into wrist ankle acupuncture group (60 cases) and control group (60 cases). The wrist ankle acupuncture group was treated with wrist ankle acupuncture, and the control group was treated with ketorolac tromethamine. The waiting time for treatment, treatment effect in different time periods, overall efficacy, 24h pain recurrence rate, adverse reactions and other observation indicators were used to evaluate before and after treatment. Results The waiting time for treatment in wrist ankle acupuncture group[(1.18±0.45) min] was shorter than that in control group [(5.17±3.89) min] (P<0.001); In terms of VAS score, patients in the wrist ankle acupuncture group had lower pain scores at the time point of 0.5 h, 2 h and 5 h after treatment (P<0.05); In the overall efficacy evaluation, the total effective rate of wrist ankle acupuncture group was 98 . 33 %, and that of control group was 93 . 33 %, the difference of groups has no statistic significance (P=0.210); In terms of adverse reactions, the incidence of wrist ankle acupuncture group (3.33%) was lower than that of the control group (16.67%), the difference is statistically significant(P=0.010). Conclusion Both wrist ankle acupuncture group and control group can reduce the pain score of renal colic; However, the wrist ankle acupuncture group has shorter waiting time for treatment, can rapidly relieve renal colic, and has less adverse reactions, which is worthy of clinical application.
