Effect of Shujin Zhuanggu decoction combined with PVP on lumbar function and bone metabolism in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures

Abstract:
Objective To observe the effect of Shujin Zhuanggu decoction combined with percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) on lumbar spine function and bone metabolism in patients with osteoporotic compression spinal fractures. Methods A total of 114 patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures who were admitted to our hospital from August 2018 to August 2020 were selected and randomly divided into two groups according to the order of admission, with 57 cases in a single group. The control group was given PVP treatment, and the observation group was given Shujin Zhuanggu decoction combined with PVP treatment. The total effective rate of the two groups was counted, the visual analogue scale (VAS) score and the Oswestry disability index (ODI) were used to evaluate the degree of pain and lumbar spine dysfunction, and the changes of bone metabolism-related factors and lumbar spine bone mineral density (BMD) were detected in the two groups. During the 6-month follow-up, the recurrence rates of adjacent vertebral fractures in the two groups were recorded.
