Effect of Acupoint Hot Compress of Chinese Medicine on Gastrointestinal Motility after Laparoscopic Surgery for Acute Appendicitis

Abstract:
Objective To explore the effects of hot compresses on acupoints of traditional Chinese medicine on gastrointestinal motility after laparoscopic surgery for acute appendicitis. Methods 165 cases of patients with acute appendicitis who were treated by laparoscopic surgery in our hospital from October 2017 to October 2020 were collected, randomly divided into two groups according to the random number table method. 82 cases of patients in the control group were received conventional treatment after surgery, and 83 cases of observation group were treated with traditional Chinese medicine acupoint hot compress on the basis of conventional treatment after operation. The TCM symptom score, clinical efficacy, gastrointestinal hormone levels and gastrointestinal function recovery time of the two groups were compared. Results In the observation group, the abdominal distension score was ( 1 . 52 ±0 . 36 ) points, anorexia score was ( 1 . 55 ±0 . 33 ) points, vomiting score was (4.77±0.56) points and abdominal pain score was (1.69±0.23) points after treatment, which lower than (2.19±0.35) points, (2.24±0.29) points, (2.13±0.22) points and (2.65±0.38) points in the control group (P＜0.05). In the observation group, the total effective rate was 97.59%, which was higher than 89.02% of the control group (P＜0.05). In the observation group, the gastrin (GAS) was (154.26±7.21) pg/mL, and motilin (MTL) was (230.45±15.27) pg/mL after treatment, which were higher than ( 138 . 41 ±7 . 62 ) pg/mL, (230.45±15.27) pg/mL in the control group (P＜0.05).
