Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of Xiaochengqi decoction retention enema on abdominal distension symptoms and TCM syndrome scores in patients with gastric cancer after radical total gastrectomy. Methods A total of 60 patients with gastric cancer who underwent elective radical total gastrectomy for gastric cancer in our hospital from January 2016 to December 2020 were included. They were randomly divided into two groups according to the computer randomization method, namely the control group (n=30) and the observation group (n=30). Patients in the control group received conventional integrated Western medicine after surgery, and patients in the observation group were additionally treated with Xiaochengqi Decoction retention enema. Clinical efficacy, abdominal distension symptoms, TCM syndrome scores and quality of life (EORTC QLQ-C30) scores were evaluated in two groups. Results After treatment, the abdominal distension symptom score of the observation group [(8.53±3.25) points] was higher than that of the control group [(10.65±2.39) points], and the TCM symptom score of the observation group [(9.62±3.69) points] was higher than that of the control group [(11.59±3.63) points] (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of physical function [(23.71±2.55) points], emotional function [(22.28±2.12) points], social function [(23.17±2.36) points] and role function [(23.51±1.48) points] in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group (96.67%) was higher than that of the control group (83.33%) (P<0.05). Conclusion Xiaochengqi decoction retention enema treatment can effectively relieve abdominal distension, stomachache, stomach distension and other clinical symptoms of patients after radical total gastrectomy for gastric cancer, promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function and improve the quality of life of patients.
