Comparison of Analgesic Effect of Fentanyl Transdermal Stick in Varicose Veins of Lower Extremities

Abstract:
Objective To compare the postoperative analgesic effect of Fentanyl transdermal stick in patients with varicose veins. Methods 40 patients with unilateral varicose vein of lower extremity who undergone the same surgery were randomly divided into two groups evenly. The treatment group was treated with transdermal fentanyl patch, which was replaced every 72 hours and the control group was taken one tablet of oxycodone and acetaminophen tid. Both treatments of the two groups lasted for 3 days. The pain intensity and lower limb mobility of all patients after surgery were observed. The postoperative resting visual stimulation pain score (RVAS), passive activity degree of knee joint and overall hospital complications were recorded. Results The RVAS for treatment group at 3 days were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). The lower limb mobility of all patients showed that from 24h to 72h, the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group. The treatment group occurred adverse reactions in 2 cases and the control group in 3 cases. Conclusion As one analgesic, Fentanyl transdermal stick is percutaneous absorption and potent-slow release. Studies have proved that it can be used for postoperative analgesia of lower extremity varicose veins, which can significantly promote the postoperative range of motion of patients and reduce the occurrence of lower extremity deep venous thrombosis.
