Clinical Observation of the Acupuncture Therapy on Gastrointestinal Function after the Operation of Giant Abdominal Incisional Hernia

Abstract:
Objective To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture on recovery of gastrointestinal function after giant abdominal incisional hernia operation. Methods 90 patients were randomly divided into two groups, 45 in each group. On the basis of the routine treatment, the acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture at Zusanli, Neiguan, Shangjuxu and Gongsun points, in order to observe the effect of intestinal function recovery, complications and clinical efficacy of the acupuncture group and the control group after operation. Results The recovery time and hospitalization time of intestinal function indexes in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the incidence of complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture has a significant effect on the recovery of gastrointestinal function after giant abdominal incisional hernia operation, which can reduce complications with high safety.
