Effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine Enema on Gastrointestinal Motility of Early Postoperative Inflammatory Intestinal Obstruction

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine enema on early postoperative in?ammatory intestinal obstruction (EPII) and its in?uence on gastrointestinal motility. Methods 65 patients with early postoperative inflammatory intestinal obstruction were selected as the research object. According to the different treatment schemes, the patients were divided into study group (35 cases) and control group (30 cases). The control group was only given western medicine treatment, and the study group was given traditional Chinese medicine enema on the basis of the control group. After treatment, the clinical effect, laboratory indexes and the recovery of intestinal obstruction symptoms between the two groups were observed. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the study group was 94.2%, which was signi?cantly higher than 76.7% of the control group. The difference between the two groups was statistically signi?cant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in WBC count and CRP level between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the WBC count and CRP level of the two groups were lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the study group was signi?cantly lower than the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the abdominal pain, abdominal distension disappeared time, bowel sounds recovery time, anal first exhaust, defecation time of the study group were shorter than those of the control group, which the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine enema combined with western medicine can restore the gastrointestinal motility and gastrointestinal function of EPII, reduce the WBC count and CRP level, which the curative effect is better than that of Western medicine alone.
