Abstract:
Objective To investigate Shenxiao San Powder for external use on the influence of TNF-αand IL-1β after acute soft tissue injury. Methods The rats were randomly divided into 5 groups, namely the experimental group with high, medium and low doses of Shenxiao San Powder, the control group with negative blank application and the positive control group with Votalin. The local soft tissue injury model was established and the levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in serum and muscle tissues were observed after 7 consecutive days of administration. Results On the 4th day, there were statistically significant differences in serum levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in each group compared with the negative control group (P < 0.05). On the 4th day, the levels of TNF-α and IL-1βin the muscle tissues of the high-dose group and the middle-dose group were significantly different from those of the negative control group (P < 0.05). On the 7th day, the serum levels of TNF-α and IL-1βin the medium dose group and the low dose group were significantly different from the negative control group (P < 0.05). On the 7th day, there were statistically significant differences between the levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in the muscle tissue of the medium dose group and the negative control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The medium dose Shenxiao San Powder has a good anti-inflammatory effect on the model of acute local soft tissue injury. The mechanism may be related to the decrease of TNF-α and IL-1β in the injured tissue.
