Clinical Effect Analysis of Patella Ring Internal Fixation for Patella Comminuted Fracture

Abstract:
Objective To observe the clinical effect of patella ring internal fixation for patella comminuted fracture. Methods From September 2013 to September 2018, 62 patients with patella fracture in our hospital were randomly divided into 2 groups: observation group (32 cases) and control group (30 cases). The observation group implemented patella ring internal fixation, and the control group underwent tension band Kirschner wire internal fixation. The clinical effects of the two internal fixation methods were compared. Results The operation time of patella fracture (59.38±11.41) min, bleeding volume (119.38±11.41) mL, postoperative complications and knee function score (88.41±3.87) of the observation group were better than those of the control group. The operation time of the control group (73.33±8.74) min, surgical bleeding volume(135.83±13.83) mL, postoperative complications and knee function score (80.10±6.84), which the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05). All patients were followed up for 18 months. The fracture healing time and internal fixation removal time of the observation group were not prolonged compared with the control group,which the differences were not statistically significant (P >0.05). Conclusion Patellar ring internal fixation for the treatment of comminuted patellar fractures has simple operation, less intraoperative blood loss, reliable fixation and low postoperative complications. It has certain advantages over the tension band Kirschner wire internal fixation.
