Efficacy and Safety of Tranexamic Acid Combined with Mailuo Shutong Pill for Tumor Patients Undergoing Knee Arthroplasty

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of tranexamic acid combined with mailuoshutong pill for tumor patients undergoing knee arthroplasty. Methods 114 tumor patients undergoing knee arthroplasty in Tianjin Hospital from March 2019 to December 2019 were enrolled retrospectively.The patients were divided into combination group (n =42), tranexamic acid group (n =40) and control group (n =30). Hemoglobin level, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative drainage volume, pre-and postoperative limb circumference changes, operation time, length of hospital stay, the incidence rate of adverse events and postoperative complications were compared among the three groups. Results The postoperative hemoglobin level of combination group and tranexamic acid group were significantly higher than those of the control group.There was no significant difference in intraoperative blood loss and operation time among the three groups. The postoperative drainage volume and length of hospital stay of combination group and tranexamic acid group were significantly lower than that of the control group. The pre-and postoperative limb circumference changes of the combination group were significantly lower than the other two groups. Conclusion For tumor patients undergoing knee arthroplasty, tranexamic acid combined with mailuoshutong pill could effectively reduce the postoperative blood loss, swelling and length of hospital stay without increasing the incidence rate of adverse events and postoperative complications.
