Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effects of appropriate Chinese medicine nursing techniques on the gastrointestinal function and quality of life after gastric cancer surgery. Methods A total of 158 patients with gastric cancer admitted to the 3B ward of Shuguang Hospital affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2017 to December 2018, who were randomly divided into control group and observation group. Both groups underwent laparoscopic radical gastrectomy. The control group received routine nursing intervention under the concept of fasttracksurgery. The observation group received appropriate technical intervention on TCM nursing based on the control group. Both were conducted for 7 days. The gastrointestinal function recovery (intestinal recovery time, first exhaust, defecation time, etc), quality of life score, complications and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results In the observation group, the recovery time of bowel sounds, first exhaust time, first defecation timeand hospital stay were less than those in the control group, which the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The QLQ-C30 function score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P <0.05), and the quality of life symptom score was significantly lower than that of the control group (P <0.05). The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, which the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion The appropriate technology of TCM nursing under the concept of fasttracksurgery can accelerate the recovery of gastrointestinal function in patients with postoperative gastric cancer, improve the quality of life and satisfaction of patients. It is suitable for clinical promotion.
