Abstract:
Objective To analyze the effects of action-oriented education combined with rapid rehabilitation nursing on gastrointestinal function recovery, self-care ability and the MOS item short from health survey (SF-36) score of colorectal cancer patients undergoing stoma. Methods 68 patients with colorectal cancer stoma were randomly divided into two groups. 34 patients in the control group received routine nursing intervention, while 34 patients in the observation group received action-oriented education combined with rapid rehabilitation nursing intervention on the basis of the control group. The recovery of gastrointestinal function was observed,self-care ability was evaluated, the score of SF-36 scale was counted and the adverse skin condition around stoma was recorded. Results The first stoma exhaust time, first stoma defecation time and first eating time in the observation group were significantly less than those in the control group (P < 0.05). After the intervention, the scores of self-care skills, self-care responsibility, self-concept, self-care knowledge and total score of the two groups were significantly higher than those before the intervention (P < 0.05) and the observation group was significantly larger than the control group (P < 0.05). After intervention, the scores of SF-36 scale dimensions in both groups were significantly higher than those before intervention (P < 0.05). After intervention, the scores of SF-36 scale dimensions in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The total incidence of skin defects around stoma in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusions Action-oriented education combined with rapid rehabilitation nursing is very helpful to accelerate the recovery of gastrointestinal function in patients with colorectal cancer after stoma. It can enhance the self-care ability of patients, improve the quality of life and reduce the occurrence of adverse skin conditions around stoma.
