Clinical Curative Effect Observation on Treating Pain in Knee of Primary Osteoporosis Patients with New Beryllium Needle

Abstract:
Objective To observe the influence of new beryllium needle on treatment of pain in knee patients with primary osteoporosis. Methods Sixty primary osteoporosis patients were randomly divided into two groups with 30patients in each group. All the patients were treated with calcium carbonate, calcitriol soft capsules and calcitonin (salmon) nasal spray.The patients in treatment group were treated with new beryllium needle combined with cupping therapy based on the above treatment. The visual analog scale (VAS) score, BPI score, WOMAC score, Lequesne score and the change of temperature in the infrared thermal imaging of the affected limb before treatment and in the 4th week after treatment were analyzed. Results The differences in VAS score, BPI score and Lequesne score of the two groups which given before and after treatment was significant (P <0.001). The VAS score (3.03±0.72), BPI score (23.50±1.20), Lequesne score (5.63±0.96) of the observation group after treatmentwere significantly lower than those in the control group, which are (5.20±0.76),(37.77±1.17), and (7.73±0.83) respectively. The improvement rate in clinical impression of WOMAC score was 93.33% in observation group, while in control group was 73.33% (P <0.05). The change of temperature in the infrared thermal imaging of the affected limb in the observation group was better than that in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion New beryllium needle has a clinical effect on improving pain in knee and daily independent ability of patients. It can be an effective method of traditional Chinese medicine therapy in the treatment of primary osteoporosis.
