Evaluation of Effects of Shenlingbaizhuwan Combined with Mesalazinein on the Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis

Abstract:
Objective To discuss the efficacy of Shenlingbaizhu wan combined with Mesalazinein on the treatment of ulcerative colitis. Methods 50 ulcerative colitis patients from January 2016 to January 2018 were divided into two groups according to the random number table method: observation group and control group. 25 patients in each group. The control group was treated with Mesalazine. The observation group was treated with Shenlingbaizhu wan and Mesalazine.Two groups were treated for 3 months in order to observe clinic effects and the levels of cytokines in serum. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was statistically significant (P <0.05) compared with the control group.The diarrhea relief rate, Pus and blood stool relief rate and abdominal pain relief rate were all over 80%, while the values of the control group were between 52% and 56%.The levels of IL-17, IL-23 and TNF-α reduced. The observation group was lower than those of the control group with statistically significant differences (P <0.05). Conclusion The effect of Shenlingbaizhu wan combined with Mesalazine on the treatment of ulcerative colitis could be better under the improvement of cytokines levels.
