Effect of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Therapy on Pain and Analgesia in Acute Stage of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation

Abstract:
Objective To observe and evaluate the analgesic effect of integrated traditional Chinese and Western Medicine on acute pain of lumbar disc herniation (LDH). Methods 122 patients with acute pain of LDH were randomly divided into two groups. 61 patients in the control group were treated with routine western medicine. 61 patients in the observation group were treated with Tongluo Huoxue Decoction on the basis of the control group. The difference of analgesic effect between the two groups was compared according to visual analogy score (VAS). Results The VAS scores at different time points on the first day, the third day, the fifth day and the seventh day were significantly different between the observation group and the control group (P < 0.05).After 7 days of treatment, the satisfaction rate of LDH patients in the observation group was 86.8% and that in the control group was 75.4%. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). Conclusion The combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of LDH acute pain can obtain more ideal clinical effect.
