Meta-analysis of Clinical Efficacy and Quality of Life in Treatment of Chronic Prostatitis with Qingre Huoxue Therapy

Abstract:
Objective To systematicly evaluate the clinical ef.cacy and quality of life of Qingre Huoxue Recipe in treating chronic prostatitis. Methods A randomized controlled clinical trial of Qingre Huoxue Recipe for the treatment of chronic prostatitis published by China Knowledge Network (CNKI), China Hospital Digital Library (CHKD), China Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), and PubMed Foreign Language Database from January 2000 to present. The test literature, after extracting the data, used Cochrane and Jadad scoring standards to evaluate the quality of the literature, and used Review Manager 5.3 software for data analysis. Results A total of 9 RCT studies were included and Meta-analysis was performed on 822 patients. Analysis showed that the treatment of chronic prostatitis with Qingre Huoxue method, TCM syndrome RR = 1.2, 95% CI (1.12, 1.29); pain symptom score MD = –2.88, 95% CI (–4.13, –1.64); urination Symptom score MD= –0.93, 95% CI (–1.83, –0.03); quality of life score MD= –1.75, 95% CI (–2.37, –1.13). Conclusion Treatment of chronic prostatitis with Qingre Huoxue TCM compound can alleviate pain symptoms and urinary symptoms and improve patients’ quality of life and clinical ef.cacy of TCM, and is superior to the control group.
