Effect of Laparoscopy-Assisted D2 Radical Gastrectomy on Patients with Gastric Cancer and its Effect on Short and Long Term Survival Rate

Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of laparoscopy-assisted D2 radical operation on patients with gastric cancer and short and long term survival rate. Methods From April 2010 to July 2011, 102 patients with gastric cancer in our hospital were enrolled and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 51 cases in each group. Patients in observation group were treated by laparoscopy-assisted D2 radical operation and the patients in control group were treated with traditional open surgery. The effects of two groups were compared. Results The operation time of the observation group was (204.3±21.8) min, which was significantly longer than the control group of (177.5±20.3) min, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); length of stay in the observation group was significantly shorter than that in the control group; observation group of lymph node dissection number was signi.cantly higher than that in the control group; the incidence of postoperative complications in observation group was signi.cantly lower than the control group, the differences were statistically signi.cant (P<0.05). Conclusion Laparoscopy-assisted D2 radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer has a significant clinical effect, which can effectively reduce the pain of patients and the incidence of postoperative complications, with better long-term survival rate.
