Abstract:
Objective To observe the effect and efficacy of serum procalcitonin (PCT) and C-reactive protein (CRP) in patients with open wounds. Methods A retrospective analysis of 96 patients undergoing trauma and fractured surgery from April 2015 to May 2019 was performed. The patients were divided into the conventional group (48 cases) and the observation group (48 cases) according to the randomized table. The patients in conventional group received a series of symptomatic supportive therapies for anti-infection, analgesia and correction of electrolyte imbalance. The patients in observation group were treated with traditional Chinese medicine Bushen Huoxue Recipe based on the regular group. The serum levels of PCT and CRP, Kofoed ankle and Lysholm knee (LKSS) scores, visual analogue pain (VAS) scores, and clinical outcomes of two groups were compared for 1 day, 2 weeks and 12 weeks. Results There was no statistical difference in serum PCT and CRP, Kofoed and LKSS scores, and VAS scores between the two groups for 1 day after surgery (P>0.05). At 2 and 12 weeks after surgery, serum PCT and CRP levels and the VAS scores in the routine group were higher than the observation group, while the Kofoed and LKSS scores were lower than those in the observation group, with statistical difference (P<0.05). Two groups of serum PCT and CRP, Kofoed and LKSS scores and VAS scores were significantly improved at 2 weeks and 12 weeks after surgery (P<0.05). The total clinical effective rates of the conventional group and the observation group were 75.00% (36/48) and 93.75% (45/48), respectively. There was a statistical difference (P<0.05). Conclusion Bushen Huoxue Recipe can alleviate the inflflammatory reaction after operation in patients with open fractures of the tibia, improve the function of the knee joint, relieve the pain and promote the fracture healing, and the clinical effect is acceptable.
