Clinical Observation on Traditional Chinese Medicine Paishi Decoction Combined with Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy in Upper Urinary Tract Calculi

Abstract:
Objective To explore the curative effect of traditional Chinese Medicine Paishi Decoction combined with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy in the treatment of upper urinary tract calculi. Methods From June 2012 to June 2017, 889 patients with upper urinary tract calculi were divided into traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment group (treatment group) and extracorporeal shock wave treatment group (control group). The patients in control group were treated with routine Western medicine extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, and the patients in treatment group were treated with traditional Chinese and Western medicine which was Paishi Decoction combined with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy. The effects of treatment, days of hospitalization, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy number, abdominal pain reduction time and gross hematuria disappearance time were observed. Results The total effective rate was 80% in the control group and 90% in the treatment group (P<0.05). The average number of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy was (2.1±1.1) times in the control group and (1.4±1.2) times in the treatment group (P<0.05). The average time of abdominal pain was (3.76±2.24) d in the control group and (3.01±1.54) d in the treatment group (P<0.05). Conclusion The effect of traditional Chinese medicine Paishi Decoction combined with external shock wave lithotripsy in the treatment of upper urinary calculi is obviously better than that of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy alone.
