Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of Ningmitai Capsules combined with levofloxacin on inflammatory cells and clinical promotion outcomes of patients with chronic prostatitis. Methods Totally 160 patients with chronic prostatitis were involved in this study. They were randomly divided into two groups, the control group and the observation group. There were 80 patients in each group. Patients in the control group took only levofloxacin, while those in the observation group were given both Ningmitai Capsules and levofloxacin. White blood cells (WBC) and lecithin body (SPL) in prostate fluid, NIH-CPSI scores and symptom scores of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) were compared between two groups before and after treatment. The clinical outcomes of two treatment methods were also compared. Results Patients in two groups had the improvement of WBC and SPL and the lower scores of NIH-CPSI and TCM symptoms after treatment compared with those before treatment (P<0.05). After treatment, the obvious improvement of WBC and SPL and lower scores of NIH-CPSI and TCM symptoms were obtained in the observation group than the control group (P<0.05). The total effective ratio in the observation group was 77.50%, which was much higher than that in the control group (51.25%, P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of Ningmitai Capsules and levofloxacin could effectively decrease the inflammatory cells in prostate fluid, improve the clinical features and increase the total effective rate when treating chronic prostatitis.
